About StrongHouse Coaching
How it all started
"StrongHouse" is a rough translation of my son's Chinese name (he's half Chinese), given to him by his grandfather. It is also a key part of my guiding principle in training:
'To build a strong house you need a strong foundation'.
This means mastering the basics of exercise, and progressing in a safe and sustainable way so you can stay strong and injury-free while pursuing your fitness goals and living your life.
StrongHouse Coaching was born in the first year of the pandemic, when lockdowns were frequent and long-lasting, vaccines were still months away from being widely available in Canada, and most people felt really hesitant about going to the gym.
At that same time, a few former clients of mine had reached out to me wondering if I could do virtual training with them, and that's when I realized I could still help people with their physical well-being and health goals. And so, StrongHouse Coaching was born.
My purpose is to share my knowledge and skills so that those I help can live their lives as fully as possible. I am a certified CHEK practitioner and Fascial Stretch Therapist, and I believe in taking a holistic approach to health centered around the four cornerstones of well-being: movement, nutrition, sleep/rest, and contentment.
I have been a coach since 2011, and have worked with clients from ages 18-80, male, female, and transgender, across varying levels of fitness and health.
While I primarily work with the general population, I do have a couple of areas of specialization: golfers, and prenatal/postpartum clients.
