Do I really need an assessment first?Yup! In order to get you where you want to be, I need to know where you're starting, and that means doing a full in-person assessment. This covers assessments of static and moving posture, core and back function, breathing, muscle imbalances, basic movement patterns, and more. The assessment gives me a comprehensive picture or where you're starting so I can build you a plan to suit your specific needs, and it gives you a picture of how far you've progressed after doing a few months of training. If you're not assessing, you're just guessing, and when it comes to your health, guessing doesn't cut it.
-
Why do you charge a monthly rate instead of a per session rate?A monthly membership allows for flexibility on both sides. It gives you a guaranteed minimum number of sessions per month, which helps to keep you consistent, and it allows you to budget more easily, since you're paying the same amount each month.
-
What if I've committed to a plan, but I need to pause my training? We can do that, 100%. Sometimes you can't do everything you've committed to doing. I get it. I've had clients pause their training numerous times for various reasons, and while it's not ideal for achieving health goals, sometimes it's inevitable.

What happens if I miss a session?Sometimes you get stuck in a meeting, or a snow storm, or your kiddo shoved a crayon up their nose and now you're sitting in the ER. It happens. If you cancel with less than 24hrs notice, I can't guarantee a make-up session, but I always do my best to make it happen. With more than 24hrs notice, you will get that session rescheduled at a mutually convenient time, no sweat.
-
Do you offer in-home training?I don't currently offer in-home training, but I am in the process of setting up for in-person training at a studio. If you are looking for someone to train you in your own home, I will happily offer some recommendations for trainers who provide that service!
-
Can I do just once a week training? In my experience, people who work with a trainer twice a week or more progress at least 3 times faster than those who train once a week. That's not because they're putting in more work - it's because they're putting in the work consistently. While I'm happy to offer customized options outside of my advertised plans, I usually err on the side of recommending at least a couple of sessions per week in order to encourage consistency and progress. That said, once a week is better than not at all, so if once a week is what really works best for you, do reach out, and we can figure out the best way to make it work!
-
Do you do bootcamps or fitness classes?I offer wellness workshops, restorative exercise classes, and exercise education workshops for groups small and large. No bootcamps though, as they do not align with my coaching principles. If you're dead set on a fitness class though, I'm more than happy to help you find the right one for you!

Is FST covered by insurance?FST is not covered as an independent service, as it is not a regulated practice. If your insurance plan covers personal training, it may be covered under that umbrella, but you should always check with your provider first.
